Your guide to a successful career in the Merchant Navy

OCCP (Onboard Career and Competency Progression) is a structured career development framework for seafarers to enhance their skills, gain experience, and progress in their maritime careers.

OCCP ensures that seafarers receive systematic training, onboard assessments, and experience to meet industry standards, improving their career prospects and competency.

OCCP provides a clear career path, helping seafarers move from entry-level positions to higher ranks through structured training, assessments, and sea service.

While OCCP is not mandatory, it is highly recommended as it enhances career progression, skill development, and compliance with maritime industry requirements.

OCCP is regulated by maritime authorities, shipping companies, and training institutes to ensure consistency in training and competency standards.

Seafarers can enroll in OCCP through their shipping companies, maritime training institutes, or onboard mentorship programs designed for career development.
